Description
Of late, we have seen a trend toward celebrating imaginative assignments for imagination's sake alone. Some of these assignments may engage students and help them to think imaginatively, even critically, but they may also miss the point of the work or confound the author's intent. In the name of imagination, teachers often design activities and assignments that violate the text around which the lesson is focused and that mislead students about its meaning.
