Dr. Shea is a professor and director of the graduate literacy programs at Canisius College. She teaches courses in the on-campus and online literacy master's programs. Mary has extensive experience as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and district language arts coordinator. She presents workshops at state and national conferences and conducts in-service staff development programs. She has written texts for Scholastic, Heinemann, and Routledge as well as lesson plans for Carus Publishers.
