Dr. Koitz is an Associate Professor at Hood College and Co-Chair of the Education Department. Dr. Koitz is also the Director of the MS in Reading Specialization program and has directed the Hood College Reading Clinic for the past 26 years. Dr. Koitz received her BA degree from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina, her MA degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA and her doctoral degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Dr Koitz’s research interests include early literacy development, spelling development and vocabulary acquisition. Dr. Koitz lives in Frederick, MD with her husband and two daughters.
